The Guys Are Props Club by Ingrid Seymour: Review and AMAZING Giveaway

Title: The Guys Are Props Club
Author: Ingrid Seymour
Date of Publication: July 15, 2013
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Synopsis:
During her senior year in high school, Maddie Burch promised herself not to ever fall for a cute guy – or any guy – again. Cute guys are players and not to be trusted, a fact she learned the hard way when her first boyfriend ran her heart through a paper shredder. Two years later, her promise is still intact, and she’s determined to make it through college without falling victim to another creep. She has her job, school and The Guys Are Props Club to keep her mind and hormones in check.
The club was founded by Jessica, Maddie’s best friend. It is a sisterhood of girls who have fallen prey to heartless jerks and who have vowed to turn the tables. Once a semester, Jessica requires members to “do onto others as they’ve done unto you.” Setting the example, Jessica’s next play is Sebastian Capello, a theater major with heartthrob looks and a flair for Latin dance, whose heart she plans to break the way hers was once broken.
What the friends don’t know is that Sebastian is different. Despite his perfect looks and popularity, he’s not a jerk. He doesn’t play games to get his way. Instead, he keeps it real and goes after what he wants with honest intentions. And what he wants is not a bombshell like Jessica, but a down-to-earth girl like Maddie – even if it causes a riff in the girl’s friendship. Even if it means getting Maddie to break her personal vow.
*** Due to language and sexual situations this book is recommended for ages 17 and older

Clare's Review:
I have to admit, I wasn't sure how I'd like this book. The title didn't capture me, but I do hate to judge a book by its cover. ;). BUT, I enjoyed it more and more as I read. You know movies like Mean Girl, Pitch Perfect, and all the Bring It On movies? You know you should grow out of them but really you still love them and watch them whenever they're on?? Is that just me...?
Anyway, this book was kind of like that. It's a cute story and there's a good moral here. I think a lot of young girls should read this to see how NOT to be!
You have Maddie who is basically cute and sweet but a follower of the "mean girl", Jessica. Jessica is just nails down the chalkboard awful. She's that girl in high school you couldn't stand, but she had a ton of friends anyway and you kind of wanted to be her friend too but didn't know why...hmmmm.
Together they are trying to teach the male players of the world a lesson. Which is actually pretty funny and I kind of support, but, you know, that could backfire. Sebastian comes in and is a game changer. I can't really tell if he's hot and sexy or a complete dork, or both. But he's endearing and definitely knows how to get to a girl, in a good way!
There were some problems with the flow of the book at times, but it got better as it went. All in all it was young, cute, and feel good and I'll give it 3.75 stars.

Excerpt:
Sebastian turned to look back at me. We stared into each other’s eyes until he asked, “Why are you afraid of letting me in? Did someone hurt you before?”
Breaking eye contact, I sat up and hugged my legs to my chest.
Rule No.8: Never share your secrets with a player. He will only use them to his advantage.
