Hated (book 3) by Mercy Amare
Release Date: August 31st
Everything in my life is perfect. I have a family. My music is now going my way. And I have Stephan. Forever. All my dreams are coming true. But the problem with perfection is that eventually everything falls apart. And my whole life is crumbling around me — piece by piece.
I am just trying to get through the next few months with my sanity intact, but that seems like an impossible feat. I’m back in LA, and this time I’m not alone. Between finding time for my new husband, my mother-in-law that hates me, and putting up with Alec and Bridgett’s bickering, I’m not sure how much more I can take… And then Mona shows up. I am in over my head.
I thought I knew the truth about everything, but I was wrong. Secrets that weren’t supposed to come out are now being discovered. Secrets about my biological father… Even Bridgett is keeping a secret… Something big. I have to know what, even if it means running away again.
I tried for normal — now I know that there is nothing normal about being a rock star.
I write YA & NA Romance books. I have a slight addiction to NOS. My guilty pleasure is Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries, & The Lying Game.
Where to creep on the Author:
I fucking HATED the ending of this Trilogy!!! Sonofabitch!!! After reading all three of the Rockstar books from Mercy, I'm so sad to see the ending. I feel like I've become a part of Scarlett's life in such a big way, watching her grow and fall in love. This series has been amazingly beautiful.
The beginning of HATED had me reeling. I actually had to go back to the second book, FADED, because I felt like I was missing something. All in all, it was nothing but the reality of Scarlett and Stephan's circumstances coming into play. I loved it! I can't go into further detail without ruining the story, so I'll just say that this couples trip to Vegas left them with a little something extra and they wanted to keep it there. HA!!! So much for that shit. What happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay there.
When the secret comes out...Oh, boy!
The ultimate attraction to me for this book is the unrequited love between Scarlett and Stephan. I can't get over the two of them and their goo-goo eyes at such a young age. The term soul mates should be defined as two people such as Scar and Stephan.
Basically, the steam in this book is a little more heated, the relationships are a tad more relate-able, and the details are a bit more UMPH!!! Yeah, you get me. I'm a pervy bitch, so I guess for HATED and it being more of the YA genre I was surprised. I absolutely adored this book.
If you haven't started THE ROCKSTAR TRILOGY by Mercy Amare, you should do so. This series is fantastic!
I'ma steal Stephan!
4.5 stars for HATED

“We have so much chemistry that we're literally smoking,” I smile. “And it's only a matter of time before we erupt.”
He clears his throat. “I'm kind of looking forward to this eruption. Think it will happen any time soon?”
“Stephan,” I swat my hand at his arm gently. “You are so bad.”
“Maybe, but you know you want me.”
“Oh, I do want you, but it's so much more fun to make you wait.” I laugh. “Besides, I'm waiting until we're in love.”
“Augh, the L word again.” He shakes his head, as if he can will the word to go away.
“Why are you so against love?” I ask.
“I'm not against love. I just think that love is a serious word. I have never told a girl that I love her, and I want it to mean something. I want the one and only girl I say it to, to be my wife.”And right there, I lost my heart... to a boy named Stephan Montgomery.

I know that I want to do MY music. I need to remember WHY I wanted to play music in the first place. And the only way to get that is by firing my dad, but that may be harder than I thought.
On top of everything, I now have cameras following me around everywhere. Even my own home isn’t safe anymore.
I’ve come to realize that normal will never be an option for me.

He pulls out a costume. “I could be Iron Man.”
I crinkle my nose. “No way. Thor is way cooler of a superhero.”
“He’s not a superhero. He’s a god. There is a difference,” Stephan quickly replies.
“Whatever. I really don’t care. He’s a mythical creature either way. He can be whoever the fuck I want him to be.” I shake my head.
“What are you going as?” Stephan asks.
“Who cares?” I laugh and decide to quote Mean Girls. “Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.” I pause then say, “I was thinking slutty zombie.”
“I think I’m going to like your costume,” Stephan says quickly. “And I will totally let you bite me.”
“Only you could think about sex during the zombie apocalypse,” I joke.
“Well somebody is going to have to repopulate the earth. It’s a rough job, but I think I’m up for the challenge.” He puts his arm around my shoulder and starts walking me to the door. “In fact, we better get started now.”I remove his arm from around my shoulder. “Right. You get started without me. I’m just going to grab my costume.”
