Clare's Review:
I suddenly...want a new coffee table. I've been thoroughly romanced by...a coffee table. And let me tell you, if I had said coffee table, I'd make Alessandro like my little toe and bang him on it every day. (It's okay, all this will make sense as soon as you read this book. And trust me, you want to read this book!)
It's no secret how much I loved A Little Too Far. It was fabulous and I've been dying for ALTM to come out! You could read this, I suppose, without having read ALTF, but you will gain a much greater understanding of this book if you do. Also, if you haven't read ALTF...what are you waiting for??
Okay so Hilary is an aspiring Broadway actress with a difficult past. Alessandro is an ex-almost priest. Think on that one. They knew each other when they were kids in a group home and have never forgotten each other. This story is about them reconnecting and also coming to terms with their demons and secrets. And there are demons and secrets aplenty!!
From reading the tail end of ALTFar, I didn't expect how this book started, but I loved it! I guess I assumed this was going to be from Alessandro's POV, but it was from Hilary's. And you get inside her head and really get a feel for her life, and that is very important to the story.
Hilary is quirky, funny, strong, and loyal. Even with her secrets and defenses, I still connected very strongly with her. She doesn't give up. And Alessandro....I LOVED him in the first book but my heart was torn in two. In ALTM, it gets put back together....eventually!! And some of the things you learn about him!!!!!! Oh I melted. Puddle.
This was a love story at its finest. I never wanted it to be over. Read it. Five stars!!!!!

Lisa Desrochers lives in northern California with her husband, two very busy daughters, and Shini the tarantula. If you'd told her five years ago she'd write a book, she'd have laughed in your face. As it turns out, she'd owe you an apology. Writing has become an addiction for Lisa and A Little Too Far, courtesy of HarperCollins, is her first novel for adults.
