4.5 Swoony stars for this one.
I was really excited to get this story for
review, I loved the modern day Romeo and Juliet.
In fair LA is where we lay our scene of
this story of Ryder and his Jade.
Ryder is the typical bad boy alpha male. VP
of the Scorpio Stinger MC. He has a tortured past and believes himself to be
unworthy of the love of a good woman.
Jade is a typical 22 year old woman who is
just now learning that there is a huge world out there once you get away from
under Daddy's thumb.
The story begins with Ryder whisking Jade
away from 'Marcus' the other man in her life after she finds him in a delicate
situation with his secretary.
Ryder and Jade have strong chemistry that
they both want to explore despite the obstacles they face.
The big issue in our tale is Jade's brother
- he is a SWAT Cop, his head full of vengeance for his dead girlfriend who was
murdered by a MC in a shootout with police, this does not bode well for our bad
boy and his MC brethren.
After a rather heated encounter with
Harrison (the overbearing, overprotective big brother) Ryder's MC pres declares
that Jade is a danger to the club and the last thing they need is a cop
sniffing around.
Ryder makes the heartbreaking decision to
put the good of the club above all and leaves the only woman he has ever loved.
Enter now someone from Ryder's past that
brings news that turns his world upside down. With this news comes the
realization that not everything is as it seems and there are some things in
this life worth fighting for and the love of a good woman is one of them.
Now
the question is will love concur all or will the forces pulling at them tear
them apart forever?
Jani has been married for
a long time to a special man, and her two children and their partners are the
sunshine in her life. She is a voracious reader and would spend her last dollar
on a book - always fascinated that for the mere price of a book, she can escape
her world for a while and see through someone else's eyes.
Besides reading, her favorite 'thing' is traveling - she has traveled the world, learning about the ways people live and has come to the realization that no matter where we live, we all ultimately want the same things. Her hobby - Scrapbooking - keeps her up till way after midnight and her usual subjects are her family and her travels.
Ever since she can remember, Jani wanted to write stories about people, about their lives and loves. Relationships and Happiness - arguably the most difficult things to master in life and yet exactly what everyone ultimately desires (in her humble opinion).
Besides reading, her favorite 'thing' is traveling - she has traveled the world, learning about the ways people live and has come to the realization that no matter where we live, we all ultimately want the same things.
